This catalog was published by the Fondation Clément on the occasion of the exhibition “Or et peaux, nouvelles mythologies” by Michel Rovélas from June 2 to July 26, 2017.
For a while, on the school benches of Guadeloupe and elsewhere, in White, Black, Red and Yellow, at exhibitions in the Caribbean, in Martinique, in Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico or Haiti, in central Paris, Marseille, Strasbourg, Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid, New York, Taiwan, Portugal, South Korea and the starry eyes of inhabitants of Marie-Galante and Guadeloupe, I have revealed what made my spirit shudder, wherever man has fallen prey to man; I have searched for the very essence of Man, its plenitude, that of Women, to fortify it with all the colours of the Human.”
