Le Patrimoine des Communes de la Martinique is an encyclopaedia of the island’s 34 communes and contains over 1,600 items compiled through its pages, telling the stories, both big and small, that have formed the island of Martinique. One of the aims of the Clément Foundation in republishing this book with new material was to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving, protecting, maintaining and studying the region’s precious cultural assets.
