Practical informationWith Negropolis, Jean-Marc Hunt offers us a vision of the world which is inspired by his urban life and which is based on a complex combination of reality, language, imagination and myth.
This exhibition brings together works of profoundly Caribbean inspiration such as large formats whose colours recall the colours of a carnival atmosphere or the “vanitus”, sculptures that evoke South American rites.
A syncretism which seems to form a bridge between the island Caribbean and the continental Caribbean with a touch of humour and irony, as suggested by the small formats, whose name, ex-voto, contrasts with the sometimes funny and sometimes lustful characters.
