Practical informationSince 2008, Jacqueline Fabien has traced out an autobiographical and intimate path on the other shore.
After the shock/sublimation marked by the Eclipse that takes place in Martinique after the tragic loss of a child, the series Au-delà is a formal and sensitive approach arising from a transatlantic ocean crossing to rediscover the world/discover a new world. She occupies a landscape that is not natural, but man-made – the urban garden – with the series Montsouris, thèmes et variations. This “city break”, the modest replica of a lost paradise, becomes an exclusive subject where digressions, daydreams, re-appropriation and invention compose a score around real elements of this garden. Finally, the sculpture La Chienne, the film Le plan d’eau, photographs of the stroll and poems give body to this artistic, intellectual and spiritual wandering.
